FAMILY PICNIC AT TROOP 20 CABIN
AUGUST 2012 PACK MEETING

What: The August 2012 Pack meeting will be the annual Family Picnic.

In collaboration with our friends at Troop 20, we have a social picnic and pack meeting.  The pack meeting is held outdoors, weather permitting.  The scouts play a variety of picnic-type and outdoor games.

Pack meetings, which include participation by all dens, are the official gathering of the Pack and are conducted with various purposes and locations.  Among other things, they serve to honor scouts with awards, convey Pack information, and conduct ceremonies or other events.
Where: Boy Scouts Troop 20 Cabin (click for directions)
When: Stay tuned for infomation.

Scouts and their family members need not stay for the whole picnic duration, but are encouraged to attend the pack meeting.
Why: The Family Picnic fosters the Cub Scout purposes of Character Development, Spiritual Growth, Good Citizenship, Sportsmanship and Fitness, Family Understanding, Respectful Relationships, Personal Achievement, Friendly Service, Fun and Adventure, and Preparation for Boy Scouts!
Pack 460 Event Coordinator: See Pack 460 Contacts for coordinator information.
What to Bring: Cub scouts should bring a side dish such as macaroni salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, vegetables, etc.

Boy scouts will provide the main meal.

Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 20 for providing the main entrees.

While picnic tables are available, you may want to bring a lawn chair.
What to Wear: Scouts should wear their Class B uniforms.

An extra shirt might be a good idea, too, since Troop 20 often invites kids to participate in a watermelon-eating contest.

Also bring a swimsuit.
